The Goldschmidt-Thermit-Group
Goldschmidt Thermit GmbH was established in 1999 as the holding of more than 20 companies that together form the Goldschmidt-Thermit-Group and serve the international growing market of railway infrastructure.
The Goldschmidt-Thermit-Group has been involved in railway welding for over 100 years. Starting from the pioneering invention of Hans Goldschmidt, who discovered the THERMIT® reaction at the end of the 19th century and refined it to a marketable product, a variety of processes were developed to weld rails together. Consumables and procedures were designed to meet the engineering requirements of the railway industry with higher speed, lower maintenance costs and reduced noise being the primary incentive.
After the second world war the Group also focused on repair and maintenance of the railway infrastructure. Electrical welding procedures and modern rail grinding equipment are used for this important branch of service business. A range of commercial track products complete the portfolio offered to the customers.

Thus Goldschmidt Thermit GmbH is a group of companies that supplies high quality products and approved processes for railway applications. The Group is represented all over the world with local production and service units and committed to providing a strategic partner to the railway industry, working together to serve their needs and to develop an efficient and reliable railway infrastructure.
